THANKS FOR BEING A GOOD NEIGHBOR
It’s the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Restaurants are closed, people are staying home, and as a result, local food producers are feeling a big hit to their bottom line…
THE OPPORTUNITY
We want to produce a video to rally support for their businesses by encouraging our customers to shop for local products, but social distancing has made any on location filming a strict no-no.
How do we quickly produce a video to spur support for local producers without the ability to actually…film?
THE PLAN
Tell the story of the pandemic’s impact on the local food community with raw, testimonial-style footage filmed entirely by our community partners on their phones. For this project I was responsible for the concept, pre-production and project coordination, and all editing/post-production.
STEP 1: Build a submission request deck to share with local partners.
This comprehensive piece included a full project overview, direction and prompts for participants, and detailed instructions on how to film and submit videos.

STEP 2: Compile hours of interview footage into a single, three-minute video.
These partner stories created a powerful, cohesive narrative in support of local businesses in the early days of the pandemic.

THE RESULT
The final video received record engagement on all digital channels, with customers, vendor partners, and employees rallying support for the local food community.
